FAQ

Coving or mouldings within the home are regarded as decorative rather than part of the building structure and therefore are not subjected to the normal fire regulations. If a fire does breakout within the home, the mouldings will melt but will not add to the fire. For commercial buildings or if there is a chance that the mouldings will come into contact with an open flame or temperatures above 350 Celsius we recommend that a flame retardant paint be applied.

All our products come pre primed for you, therefore this removes one job for you and makes installation easier. Acrylic paints are the best to use as they have some elasticity in them and this will be a benefit is there is any movement between the coving and wall or ceiling. Emulsion paints can be used but if the movement between the coving and wall or ceiling occur, small cracks in the paint may be visible.

You will need a mitre box to cut the angles for the corner. Mitre boxes can be purchased in our accessories section. Before cutting please see our INSTALLATION GUIDE, this will give you a step by step guide to cutting a corner. Please note, always start with an external corner as it is more noticeable and work towards the internal corner. When cutting please use care and though and there should be no reason why a perfect mitred corner cannot be achieved.

A fine toothed handsaw is best used to cut the mouldings. These are available in the accessories section.

Each length does not have the same detail, as each length is made in a mould, once it starts to wear and reach the end of its life, the design begins to fade. Each length has its detail put on by a machine, therefore it means that the design on each length is more uniform than with plaster moulding.
VERY FRAGILE DURABLE:
Each length can be easily transported around as it is very durable and cannot be easily damaged.
